The original standards for what Dr. ATW Simeons suggested for the HCG diet are still valuable to this day. The Dr. Simeons HCG diet involves a daily diet that consists of 500 calories. This diet is to be used with the HCG drops in the diet to keep the body healthy and safe.
Breakfast
The breakfast in the HCG diet that Simeons created includes the following:
* A cup of coffee or tea without the use of sugar; stevia or saccharin can be used because they are sugar substitutes that do not include the difficult effects of sugar in them
* A tablespoon of milk; this can work provided that the person takes twenty-four hours in between tablespoons
Lunch
The lunch in the Dr. Simeons HCG diet has four different options to choose from. These are going to be a little more filling than what was used in breakfast but it should be enough to help keep a person working through the rest of the day provided that the HCG is being used appropriately. The four key options that Simeons has listed include:
* 100 grams of a lean meat product like chicken, crab, shrimp or beef; the fat on the meat must be removed while everything is then grilled or boiled
* A vegetable like spinach, tomato, celery, onions, radishes or cabbage
* A breadstick or Melba toast slice
* An orange or apple; these fruits should be safer than others
Dinner
The dinner plan can include the same as what a person might have with a lunch. However, it might be better to work with the 100 grams of meat option during dinner. This is due to how the meat will take a little longer to prepare. In fact, several things need to be managed with this meat:
* It must have visible fats removed
* It cannot be fried
* Any chicken materials must be removed off of the bird before they can be served
Also, there are a few meats that the HCG diet cannot use. These meats, according to Simeons’ reports, are:

3. Eel
4. Pickled fish
5. Dried fish
